Each month we invite a guest curator to select twelve prints from our collection. These carefully considered selections are made with the industry insights of the guest curator. Whether their choices be be made from a position of strategic collecting, or a purely aesthetic objective, each online viewing room reflects the wealth of artwork held in our drawers and how our prints can work for you and your vision. So, sit back, pour yourself a glass of wine and relax as we take you through this month’s Online Viewing Room.
This month’s Online Viewing Room has been curated by Faraday Boydell, who has recently obtained a Masters of Art and Cultural Management, where her focus was upon cultural policy and arts development. Beyond her academic qualifications, Boydell has an extensive background in the arts, working as an assistant art-dealer in a secondary market context and now working as an assistant auctioneer in the Jewellery Department at Leonard Joel. She is also currently working as a project assistant with the faculty of arts and the VCA to stage a symposium centered around greater connectivity ans sustainability in the visual arts, to be headed by artist Patricia Piccinini.
Boydell drew upon her professional background when making her selection for the Online Viewing Room, keeping collectability and collection-cohesion in mind. However, important to any collection, Boydell drew works together according to a clear ‘mood’ and overall aesthetic. In this way, Boydell illustrates that a collection can not only be valuable in terms of market value, but to its place in your home and life.
