A group exhibition of new works by nine Contemporary Tasmanian Printmakers

The winner of this years award was Miranda Leighfield with Activity. The third year, of this national award offers printmaking graduates who have just completed their studies, the professional experience of exhibiting in a commercial gallery along with a $4000 cash prize, and a full-page feature article in Imprint, kindly sponsored by the Print Council of Australia. This award is acquisitive and is open to any student who majored in printmaking and completed their course of study in 2009 at any tertiary institution in Australia. The panel of three judges this year were Des Cowley, Rare Printed Collections Manager, State Library of Victoria; Graham Fransella, Melbourne Based Artist; and Anne Virgo, Director, Australian Print Workshop.In addition to the major prize there is the People's Choice Award given to the finalist that receives the most votes. This year's winner was Marianne Potts with Underground Wonders Marianne won a full-page colour advert in the Art Almanac valued at $522.50, and paper to the value of $200 from Magnani Papers.
